FORT WORTH, Texas, Dec 27 (Reuters) - American Airlines, the world's largest
airline, said on Thursday it was cutting fares on domestic and international
routes and offering deeper discounts for purchases made through its Website.

American Airlines, a unit of AMR Corp. (AMR), said under the fare sale
travellers can fly one-way Boston to Chicago for $99, Miami to Philadelphia
for $129 and Chicago to Tokyo for $254.

The airline said some purchase requirements apply and tickets must be
purchased by Jan. 15. The offer includes up to 10 percent in further
discounts for tickets bought online at AA.com, the airline's Website.

U.S. airlines, battered by the economic downturn, have been cutting fares as
they try to lure travellers back to the skies after the Sept. 11 attacks on
the United States.
