SEOUL, Dec 24 (Reuters) - South Korea's flagship carrier Korea Air Lines Co Ltd said on Monday it planned to buy 11 new aircraft in 2002, comprising nine from Boeing Co (BA) and two from Airbus SAS [ARBU.UL]. Korean Air's fleet would fall to 114 units at the end of 2002 from 119 now as a result of the company's aircraft management programme, which includes selling 16 old planes next year, a company spokesman said. The airline's revenues would reach 6.0 trillion won ($4.65 billion) in 2002, up from an estimated 5.6 trillion won for 2001, the spokesman said. New aircraft to be added to Korea Air's fleet in 2002 included two B777-200s, five B737-900s, two A330-300s and two B747-400Fs, he said. Shares of Korean Air fell 90 won to 7,710 by 0235 GMT, while the broader stock index (KS11) rose 1.28 percent to 652.94. ($1=1290.2 Won) ©2001 Reuters Limited.
