Indeed, doing

  ./configure CC=g++ CPPFLAGS="-D__STDC_LIMIT_MACROS"

fixes the issue, too.

Yep, it's a gcc bug.  Attached you can find some tests; hopefully,
this helps you.

Hehe.  I use gnulib, so this is just fine for me.
