Paralizing configure

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello guys,
After Ralf's talk at FOSDEM I'm really enthusiastic about autoconf
paralization.

I wish to siggest an aproach to the problem. So all comments are most
wellcome.

My idea is to split the tests that configure dose into different sections. And
paralize the tests in each seaction. Then if one test returns false the whole
section should be considered for retesting.

This will also help to change the default tests (as it was suggested during
the Q&A session).

I'm not very familiar with the code of autoconf but I'm willing to start work
on that.
