Of course not. Many applications doesn't mean all applications.
That doesn't seem very scalable, and
it will have the side effect of breaking those packages when the user
attempts to compile them for the front-end nodes.
There are packages that are intended to run on compute nodes only when
on front-end/back-end machines.
