Dear listmembers, dear Eric, I tried your recommendation but doing this the apparently "harmless" warning turned to an error. Following your advice I put the define into configure.in, what made the warnings vanish, however, if I do not forcibly enter the string datarootdir = @datarootdir@ into intl/Makefile.in and po/Makefile.in.in something goes wrong with compilation. The locale - files do not end up where they ought to go, rather than /usr/share/locale things end up in /locale now. Obviously the datarootdir should be defined somehow and is required for compilation. Is there a way to add some variable to configure.in that would define datarootdir so it is known to the gettext-structure? So I think I have a chicken - egg issue - I cannot patch the files prior to running autoreconf because things get overwritten - but my system requires the path to be set so I have to patch the results of reautoconf afterwards. Any further suggestions are highly appreciated, thank you for your time, take care Dieter Jurzitza -- ----------------------------------------------------------- | \ /\_/\ | | ~x~ |/-----\ / \ /- \_/ ^^__ _ / _ ____ / <°°__ \- \_/ | |/ | | || || _| _| _| _| if you really want to see the pictures above - use some font with constant spacing like courier! :-) -----------------------------------------------------------Am Sonntag, 15.
