So what's the secret to using a (shell) variable for the 2nd arg in AC_PATH_PROG? I want the user to be able to override the default name, as it may be suffixed by -32 or -64... I've tried using: PATH_NET_SNMP_CONFIG=whatever AC_PATH_PROG([PATH_NET_SNMP_CONFIG], [$PATH_NET_SNMP_CONFIG]) and that doesn't work (with autoconf 2.59).
