Is your package named foo?  Then I'd put something like this in
the Makefile.am files:
  pkglib_LTLIBRARIES = libfoo1.la libfoo2.la ...
  kdelibdir = $(libdir)/kde3
  kdelib_LTLIBRARIES = libkde1.la libkde2.la ...

If your package is not named foo, then I suggest using a different
prefix, e.g.:
  foolibdir = $(libdir)/foo
  foolib_LTLIBRARIES = ...
