What compatibility issues did you have in mind?  Merely making negative
claims does nothing towards your cause.  I am more than willing to try and
improve things that have been done poorly in the past, but in order to
help out, I need to know what you would find more useful.  Furthermore,
open source software is developed on a volunteer basis - the best way to
make improvements is to suggest patches, rather than dwell on negative
attitudes.
