I did edit /usr/share/autoconf/Autom4te/XFile.pm and it is working now.
(Rather not downloading and installing the entire package, since the change in
XFile.pm is essentially the same as the patch.)

The Automake CVS repository is indeed the master for XFile.pm,
however Autoconf and Automake both distribute this file and they
do not share it once installed. Therefore what needs to be
upgraded here is Autoconf.
