Hello, I have yum version 3.0.6 on a linux box running CentOS 6, and can not get yum to do any installs or updates. I keep getting a "[Errno -3] Error performing checksum" error as shown below. Hints on the web point to incompatible checksum programs, and machines updated from CentOS 5 to 6. At this point yum is wedged, no updating or installing seems possible. Has anyone dealt with this issue? How can I patch yum without yum? Any info appreciated. # yum --version 3.0.6 # dmesg | head -n 200 Linux version 2.6.22.14-72.fc6 (brewbuilder@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) (gcc version 4.1.2 20070626 (Red Hat 4.1.2-13)) #1 SMP Wed Nov 21 14:10:25 EST 2007 # yum clean all Loading "installonlyn" plugin Cleaning up Everything # yum update Loading "installonlyn" plugin Setting up Update Process Setting up repositories centosplus 100% |=========================| 3.4 kB 00:00 base 100% |=========================| 3.7 kB 00:00 updates 100% |=========================| 3.4 kB 00:00 extras 100% |=========================| 3.3 kB 00:00 Reading repository metadata in from local files 7a70bde29a8ced089045ad92e 100% |=========================| 1.6 MB 00:01 http://mirror.centos.org/centos/6/centosplus/x86_64/repodata/7a70bde29a8ced089045ad92ef77e2c4f5e7fba3c96d9b70fc91bb821b6f83db-primary.xml.gz: [Errno -3] Error performing checksum Trying other mirror.
