Have you enabled the source-repos, that can break stuff
the source sould not be enabled by default
the tool will do it on the right time.
yum-builddep firefox is work for me, I would normally use yum-builddep name.rpm or yum-builddep name.spec on a local file
but yum-builddep firefox is also working for me.

I've enabled the fedora and update source repository but there are no
packages in it --
it just deals with those packages. Try:
repoquery --archlist=src --repoid=fedora-source -a
...or "yum-builddep" or "yumdownloader --source" (both of which will
automatically enable source repos., so you don't have to keep them
updated all the time).
