Hi James, I realize its been awhile but maybe you can help me still. I'm getting a yum report error, saying all mirror urls are not using ftp https file. Then it says Eg. $release very is not a valid release version or has not been released yet. Be and it's set to redhat-release....... Is there anyway just to reinstall this or is there an easy fix?

 This is the documentation:

$releasever This will be replaced with the value of the  version
of the package listed in distroverpkg. This defaults to the ver‐
              sion of `redhat-release' package.

...Eg. on Fedora 15 you get:

% repoquery --whatprovides redhat-release
fedora-release-0:15-3.noarch
fedora-release-0:15-1.noarch
generic-release-0:15-0.4.noarch
generic-release-0:15-1.noarch

...where you almost certainly want the "fedora-release" package.
