Yum cache on nfs? Fedora

Can I make the yum cache be from an network share (nfs)

used in conjunction with yum-updateonboot.

All clients boxes have yum.conf
cachedir=/nfs/path/to/$releasever/$basearch

I cannot get it to work properly with autofs
auto.master
has correct path
auto.nfs
has correct paths/mounts

it still creats the cachedir locally.

Am I missing something?
Cannot see a yum.service,
so unsure where in the process yum starts.

Reguards,

TG
