1. yum history undo is part of that. - check out the yum history docs

I found downgrade useful recently. What I did find 'strange' was that I needed
the 'older version' 'to hand' (in my case in the current directory).
For whatever reason this struck me as odd.
Perhaps explain this (and why) in the docs?
If you have older package in repositories, you do not need rpm in the
same directory. But what you need to keep your eye on is that if you
already have rpm's in the current directory yum will use them for
installation, so my practice is to leave out of directories with rpm's
in it.
