I think I found a bug.

This is on RHEL5, getting updates from my own local repository. It has
been a while since I update this system, so lots of updates are
available. First I build and install yum-3.2.24, and then do a "yum
update". Depsolving failed with (last few lines only)

 You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
 You could try running: package-cleanup --problems
                        package-cleanup --dupes
                        rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest

Strangely, if search for the missing dependency (like
/lib64/security/pam_loginuid.so), it's there already.

# yum provides /lib64/security/pam_loginuid.so

This system is not registered with RHN.
RHN support will be disabled.

Downgrading to yum-3.2.23 makes it depsolve succesfully. Last few lines only :
