Yum dependency installation order?

Ok, I am running into some strange issue and was wondering(suspecting) if it was by design and if so, is there any way around it.

Basically I have packages that require other packages for the pre/post scripts - but it looks like dependency resolver does not guarantee the order the packages get installed in - which means that even if the package I need is being installed, sometimes the post script fails because it is being installed after.

So.... I am sure I am not the first one to run into this, what is the proper way of dealing with this?

Thanks.
