Yum Problem

Hello list, I have posted this information on the fedora list and no
one there could assist me,
so I thought I would try it on the official yum list.

I am running Fedora 8 x86, with the most recent kernel and nothing
seems to work.

Here is the output of a yum update command:

[root@linbook2 ~]# yum update
Loading "fastestmirror" plugin
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
atrpms                    100% |=========================|  951 B    00:00

I have completely removed and reinstalled yum, yum-metadata-parser,
yum-utils and
still the problem persists.

I have tried yum clean cache and yum clean all and still no joy.

I have insured that no lock files or pid files exist for yum.

I have also completely removed and reinstalled the sqlite rpms.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
