You don't know the half of it...

What REALLY scares me is that the __db.00* files in the redhat directory
have the same dates as all the other files in /var/lib/tmp. Cool, huh?
Somehow that just doesn't seem right...

DISCLAIMER: Note that I am NOT a sys admin. I'm a CAD guy. I am trying
use rpm and yum to distribute s/w packages (subscribable and required)
across our sites. I don't want to involve sys admin. I tracked down
issues with yum 2.0.8 and rpm 4.2.3 to an error message of >> "error:
cannot open Basenames index using db3 - No such file or directory
(2)"Segmentation fault << coming out of a shared lib in librpmdb-4.2.so.

I decided to PUNT on that old crap and get some new crap. I have
requested rpm 4.4.2.1 be loaded up and I'll have to hack on yum 3.2.2 to
remove the root user requirement. I know it's a little late for the
question but is that a good combo?

Furthermore does python 2.4+ include 2.5? I've had some python lawyers
around here tell me "NO", the python 2.4+ means python 2.4.* and does
not include 2.5.
