Great news!
Since the last post I realised rpm is pretty much ok. Therefore, I can
boot normally. I did, and installed openssh and sshd ran! At last I can
ssh in and don't have to keep typing all the responses by hand ;-)
The bad news: After this I just tried yum update all, which seemed to do
a lot more than last time but resulted in a segfault. The log is here
