Hello yumsters, I have fc4 installed on my Pentium 3 IBM laptop, and I need to install python-devel so I can compile psycopg2, but yum says no. yum list shows this: python.i386 2.4.1-2 installed python.i386 2.4.3-8.FC4 installed and this: python-devel.i386 2.4.3-8.FC4 fedora-updates When I fire up python, it says Python 2.4.3. But when I yum install python-devel, I get this: Setting up Install Process Setting up repositories Reading repository metadata in from local files Parsing package install arguments Resolving Dependencies --> Populating transaction set with selected packages. Please wait. ---> Package python-devel.i386 0:2.4.3-8.FC4 set to be updated --> Running transaction check --> Processing Conflict: python-devel conflicts python < 2.4.3-8.FC4 --> Finished Dependency Resolution Error: python-devel conflicts with python < 2.4.3-8.FC4 (I do not see a conflict. Is there a conflict?) I would appreciate suggestions on how to install python-devel. Thanks, Rick Graves
