[Yum] MD5 errors

Hello,

I am trying to bring a RH9 machine up to snuff. The yum.conf file is 
pretty much pure vanilla (see below). I am getting many md5 errors (see 
below). The yum version I am using is 2.0.5. I did a clean in hopes of 
purging bad headers but still no joy. How can I clean this up and avoid 
the problem in the future?
