It'll make your life much easier. (shameless plug, again) If you *are* interested in getting yum 2.4.0 for EL4, you can get the necessary packages here: http://python.org/pyvault. However, you will get python 2.4.2 as a result (see full disclosure). If this is not okay, consider using rpmbuild to make the yum 2.4.0 rpm which will build against your system python (2.3.x) and will make it easier for you to manage. -- -jeff
