Yum is not installed on this 64-bit dell which is running redhat enterprise 3. I am trying to install from source because of the 64- bitness and can't find rpm. I downloaded the 2.4 tarball from duke and ran make, it output some stuff make[1]: Entering directory blah blah echo "Nothing to do" And seemed to indeed do nothing. INSTALL file just says "run make, run make install if you're a masochist, better to make an RPM". I have no idea how to make an RPM and a quick google has left me not much wiser and reluctant to become a FE just to install yum. Yum FAQ seems to have nothing to say on this topic. Googling yum & 64 bit gets me nothing. I'm not the person who installed the OS, I don't have the original disks, and I can't (much as I'd like) install centos or fedora. How do I install yum on this machine? TIA Dave
