Sorry if this comes through twice . . . I don't think I sent it from the right address the first time. I tried to install Yum by downloading the file yum-2.4.0.tar.gz and doing a make/make install. When I try to use it, I get the following error: [root@localhost yum-2.4.0]# yum There was a problem importing one of the Python modules required to run yum. The error leading to this problem was: dynamic module does not define init function (initlibxml2) Please install a package which provides this module, or verify that the module is installed correctly. It's possible that the above module doesn't match the current version of Python, which is: 2.4.1 (#1, May 16 2005, 15:19:29) [GCC 4.0.0 20050512 (Red Hat 4.0.0-5)] If you cannot solve this problem yourself, please send this message to <yum@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>. I also tried installing Yum using the RPM. From that installation, I get the following errors: RPM build errors: InstallSourcePackage: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 69886cc7 user skvidal does not exist - using root group skvidal does not exist - using root user skvidal does not exist - using root group skvidal does not exist - using root File not found by glob: /var/tmp/yum-2.4.0root/usr/lib/python?.?/site-packages/yum File not found by glob: /var/tmp/yum-2.4.0root/usr/lib/python?.?/site-packages/repomd File not found by glob: /var/tmp/yum-2.4.0root/usr/lib/python?.?/site-packages/rpmUtils I would be happy to have the package installed either way. Does anyone have any advice for me on how to get it working? Thanks! Shari
