Well, I might add, that this problem only occurred with "yum update". Using "yum shell": > update > run ts > exit all is well at first sight, and pointed in the right direction.. There is a difference in handling installonlypkgs within these variants, where "yum update" seems stricter (right): in my case, I had kernel-syms in installonlypkgs, but not kernel-source, which is required as exact version by kernel-syms. The "yum shell" variant happily _installed_ kernel-syms and updated kernel-source, which leaves the former installed kernel-syms with a missing dependancy to kernel-source. That qualifies as a bug in my eyes.. Pete
