yum20 is yum 2.0.x, which has no *.repo functionality. yum20 is a
compatibility/transition package for those that find bugs in yum >=
2.1.x and need a fast solution, or for those that need to access repos
that have no yum-2.1 metadata.

No, the bugs are not in packaging, but in yum's resolve
mechanism. Check the bug reports above.

That's exactly what has already happened. The above have been filed in
ATrpms bugzilla and found to be yum upstream bugs, which were carried
to yum's list. If you like you can create a smaller testcase for Seth
to debug.

ATrpms washes its hands in innocence ;)
