Thx. I now upgraded the system, and got no errors. But I noticed
that some xorg packages got obsoleted, and I wonder if all
replacements were properly found by yum. Here is what I see:

After rebooting my system, it does not show the startup of the various
programs (with the usual green [OK] on the right). Instead it just
shows the "starting Redhat nash version ..." line, and then after a
minute or so all seems well since I see the fedora X greeting screen.

But after doing some work in X, the box freezes. The only error-like
message in log/messages I see is

Nov 10 08:24:08 thales kernel: atkbd.c: Spurious ACK on isa0060/serio0. Some program, like XFree86, might be trying access hardware directly.

I have put my xorg and yum log files to

ftp://thales.csi.hu/mw/fc3_freeze/

You can also find the log/messages file there.

The upgrade by yum happened on Nov 9.
