My updates are at:
http://www.sewak.asr.lan/ftp/pub/yum-repository/redhat/updates/9/x86/

My Yum.conf:
[main]
cachedir=/var/cache/yum
debuglevel=10
errorlevel=2
logfile=/var/log/yum.log
pkgpolicy=newest
distroverpkg=redhat-release
tolerant=1
exactarch=1

#[base]
#name=Red Hat Linux $releasever - $basearch - Base
#baseurl=http://mirror.dulug.duke.edu/pub/yum-repository/redhat/$releasever/$basearch/

[updates]
name=Red Hat Linux $releasever - Updates
#baseurl=http://mirror.dulug.duke.edu/pub/yum-repository/redhat/updates/$releasever/
baseurl=http://www.sewak.asr.lan/ftp/pub/yum-repository/redhat/updates/$releasever/

I don't have a [base] mirror therefore I have commented it. Also, am
able to see the following directory listing at
http://www.sewak.asr.lan/ftp/pub/yum-repository/redhat/updates/9/

headers/ 	[directory]
x86/		[directory]

AND
the following directory listing at
http://www.sewak.asr.lan/ftp/pub/yum-repository/redhat/updates/9/x86/

athlon		[directory]
i386		[directory]
i586		[directory]
i686		[directory]
noarch		[directory]

What I want:

- Kernal to be upgraded but earlier kernal not to be
removed...multibooting into earlier kernel, if something happens.

- I have a PIII-550 Mhz, 512 MB RAM, Single Processor. I hope yum is
intelligent enough not to install the Athlon or SMP kernels. Please
reassure.;-)) I'm shaking!!

Commands that I intend to give:

yum -t check-update

and if no major probs

yum -t update

Is this correct? Do I need to do anything else? Please guide.

With best regards.
Sanjay.

PS: Just help me push the button!!
