"yum about" ... would maybe give output of "uname -a" along with "rpm -q yum" and "rpm -q rpm", as well as any other tidbits that are commonly of interest when debugging yum issues. People tend to be lazy, and rolling up everything into one command would certainly give people less excuses to be lazy when reporting problems.
