[Yum] YUM installed version 3, but I want version 4

Hello YUM mailing list,

I tried looking in the YUM archives for this, but I do
not know how to search the archives. I tried a Google
search,

yum want version site:lists.dulug.duke.edu

but I have not figured out good enough key words to
zero in on what I want.

Sorry to bother everyone with this question:

I want MySQL version 4, but YUM installed version 3.
How do I get version 4?

Do I simply circumvent YUM -- download and install the
rpm's the old-fashioned way? Or do I set up a local
repository?

(The solution should be simple.)

This question would obviously apply generically to any
rpm package.

If you are wondering why I want version 4 so much, I
am folloing the examples in my book, "Teach Yourself
MySQL", and the book is based on version 4. I believe
that using the same version as the book will make the
learning experience faster and less challenging.

Thanks,
