[Yum] Two yum versions at once?

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Today "yum update" on my FC1 test box gave me this result:

...
Resolving dependencies
.conflict between ghostscript and foomatic

So, I was preparing a question about that.

But, when I did:
# rpm -qa | grep yum
yum-2.0.4-20031205
yum-2.0.5-1.fd.fr

it raised another question... well ... how's that again?

A while back I _did_ download and manually install a yum daily to see if
it fixed "that day's" problem and it did IIRC.

But now I have an old daily build AND a newer version? (from freshrpms -
I peeked in /var/cache/yum)

I don't see a newer yum header in updates at all:
[updates]
name=Fedora Core 1 - Updates
baseurl=http://mirror.dulug.duke.edu/pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/1/i386/

So, what's up? And what have I missed? And what's the right thing to do
next?

I don't need this box updated in the next few days. Better to take time
and learn from this if possible.

No big hurry,

Cliff Kent
