First of all, sorry for the long email, but I wanted to paste the yum output... I'm a bit confused about what the test transaction is doing. I'm doing two updates below - notice that on the first run that the test transaction fails. Now, the second run, which is installing the same exact package which causes a conflict in the first run, completes successfully. The difference between the two runs is the 2nd run is installing a few more groups/packages. Specifically: nvidia-glx-devel 1.0.5328-0.lvn.16.i386 ns 2.26-1.i386 nam 1.9-1.i386 nvidia-glx 1.0.5328-0.lvn.16.i386 otcl 1.0a8-1.i386 kernel-module-nvidia-2.4.22-1.2149.nptlsmp 1.0.5328-0.lvn.16.i386 xgraph 12.1-1.i386 tclcl 1.0b13-1.i386 none of which are the obvious conflicting package, libgcj, or have anything to do with it (AFAIK) By the way, the javalinks packages is something very stupid, and maybe it is just confusing yum. All that the package contains is symlinks to the java executables... The reason I'm confused is: why does yum give an error the first time and not the second run.
