The yum(8) man page lists "assume-yes" as a config option.
yum.conf(5) doesn't document the option.  Yum the program takes
"assumeyes" as an option.

The yum(8) page should have the dash removed, yum.conf(5) should have
the option listed, and (IMHO) /etc/yum.conf should have something like

# Assumes the answer to any questions asked is yes
#assumeyes=3Dfalse

in the file when shipped, to have a convenient example available,
since there's no way to know what the syntax is short of reading the
yum source.
