so there is some pain in this approach.

1. users don't always know whats installed.
2. Using the default doesn't work if I did something kinda hurky.
  - ex: I'm using a dsl connection to install linux. I don't want to sit
idly while anaconda installs so I install a REALLY small base (100-200M)
and then I use yum to install the rest while I configure my machine.
This scenario is a specific case that one of the faculty here wanted to
deal with. In this scenario the defaults won't help terribly.
3. I install a base server - nothing fancy. I then want the webserver
group on there- if the webserver group assumed that X11 was around so it
could install something silly, like, say quanta. That would pull in "the
world" of dependencies.

I'm going to read through the rest of the responses shortly and see what
I can figure out.
