Using the default doesn't work if I did something kinda hurky. - ex: I'm using a dsl connection to install linux. I don't want to sit idly while anaconda installs so I install a REALLY small base (100-200M) and then I use yum to install the rest while I configure my machine. This scenario is a specific case that one of the faculty here wanted to deal with. In this scenario the defaults won't help terribly. 3. I install a base server - nothing fancy. I then want the webserver group on there- if the webserver group assumed that X11 was around so it could install something silly, like, say quanta. That would pull in "the world" of dependencies.
