I agree and I'm pretty sure Seth does, too.  It's a fairly radical
change, though, so it's probably best done when 1.5.2 gets
"abandoned" or some other major event occurs.

Note: not radical for people who run the yum executable, but for those
that access the libs directly (if there are any).
