Thanks for the reminder, things sure move fast in the GSoC world!

Can I recommend we make that a "soft freeze" (aka "slushy")?

Students will come with ideas not on that wiki page, no reason not to
put the idea up on the wiki.

A mentor may come later than 25 March, but still attract students, and
we'd want the wiki to be updated.

Etc.

The mentor must be tied to the final application. In the past we've
had strong applications that attracted a mentor right before the
deadline. So shall we leave the possibility open by not removing the
idea? (We also like to have old ideas archived for future reference,
even if they never found a mentor.)

We could instead use an admonition such as:

{{admon/note|Idea does not have a mentor|This idea does not have a
mentor associated with it. You must have a mentor for the Summer of
Code application. An application without a mentor will be rejected by
Google. Go to
http://lists.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/summer-coding to get
information or help about finding a mentor for this idea.}}

Then we put that in each == Idea details == section that doesn't (yet)
have a mentor.

Cheers - Karsten
