Not sure I understand the need for the above double loop.... Even with
your adjustment...

It would seem that all that's necessary is

    for (i < 0; i < ncells; i++) {
        if (numa->mem_nodes[i].ndistances > 0)
            break;
    }

    if (i < ncells) {
        CapsCheck

        The next double for loop now would seem to apply without
        the need for numa_distances boolean.
    }


Or am I off in the weeds?
