Ugh, this is a regression introduced by my patch...
(see [PATCH] qemu: fix monitor socket reconnection)

Eventually we need to add ENOENT to errno checks, not replace EACCES
with ENOENT, I'm not sure why EACCES happens though. Anyone knows that?
