I was told at some point that having the full project
history recorded with git makes copyright statements such
at that one pointless.

I never quite bought into that assertion, but seeing as
most contributors don't bother updating the copyright years
for the code they touch unless they have configured their
text editor to do so automatically anyway, I don't really
see a point in going against the trend.

I've pushed both patches, by the way. Thanks for your
review and, again, for taking the time to make the entire
configure file much cleaner and more modular :)
