As usual, Sun marketing has decided to confuse people by overloading the
meaning of xVM. It originally meant Sun's Xen-based virtualization
solution. After purchasing VirtualBox, they decided to call it "xVM
VirtualBox" and the Xen-based product "xVM Server".
