No virsh/libvirt doesn't use hal.

If you want to try manually adding the bridge device to
the domain, try the following.

'virsh dumpxml vmname > tmpxml'

edit 'tmpxml', add to the <devices> section:

    <interface type='bridge'>
      <source bridge='br0'/>
    </interface>

'virsh define tmpxml'
