Actually, I've just noticed the the python tests were running
before the gnulib ones.  So I'm going to move the gnulib tests
to precede the PYTHON_SUBDIR:

  SUBDIRS = gnulib/lib src qemud proxy include docs tests/gnulib \
    @PYTHON_SUBDIR@ tests po scripts
