And very recent windows don't have AC97 drivers.
So WinXP cannot use ICH6 out of the box because it does not have drivers
for it, while recent windows (how recent?) can't use AC97 out of the box
because of lack of drivers.
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=672872#c2 has some rationale
for Boxes defaulting to AC97 6 years ago. virt-manager seems to be
defaulting to ICH6 if a new enough QEMU (0.14) is detected.
