Yes, possible. Take a look at this article for an example:

That asks for the hostname, but you could ask different questions. You can also parse /proc/cmdline for custom parameters passed at boot time.

I'm new to kickstart and was wondering if it was possible to ask a single question, i.e. root password, during a kickstart install and automate anything else.  If it is, how is this accomplished?
