	You're creating your partinfo with << EOF

	Try with echo "logvol /        --vgname=$vgn --name=rootvol
--size=5120" >> /tmp/partinfo

	echo does replace $name for its value, not sure with << EOF.

	At my system I've "$ORG"-root, $ORG-Swap etc for LV's
