If you still need RHEL3 U8, try booting the machine using kernel/initrd (or pxe label) of RHEL3U7 and actually install RHEL3U8. You will get the stage2 mismatch error but this can be fixed by copying stage2.img from RHEL3U7 structure into RHEL3U8 repository.
