Ok thank you for the information, I'll take a look at the source and see what I can get working.  We are trying this on RHEL3.

You don't say which version of Redhat/Fedora this is, but there's 
certainly FTP username/password support in the current version of 
anaconda. See ftp.c and urls.c in the source for the gory details.
