I just wanted to insert my own groups, which for the most part I think I've
got working. Tweaking Base and Core, as much as it appeals to my
administrative instincts, is more trouble to me than it's worth ... although
for the life of me some of what is considered 'basic' stretches the
definition somewhat.

Yeap, that's what I'm looking for. I'm trying to beat RHEL and CentOS into a purposeful beast that suits our associaton's needs, as well as implementing some of our homegrown software. It's my goal to remove every single item that is not completely essential to doing a short list of very specific tasks.
