Our slightly different experience is that for kickstaring Advanced Server 2.1, we specify "--asprimary" for the swap partition, then have ks.cfg create 6 additional parirtitions. I can't say offhand if it's the --asprimary or something else, but we are kickstarting 7 (non-raid) partitions just fine.
